This image was taken during a practice run of the annual medieval horse race Il Palio di Siena. The race is a competition between the city's 17 contrades, resulting with the winner walking away with bragging rights and an obligation to party and chant around the city banging drums and causing a general ruckus. Now that is stuff I can get down with!
