Taken shortly after I arrived in Quito, this photo is still one of my favorites. Students protest a new education law that is still being worked through. Protests still occur due to the laws initiation, only I believe the protests have appeared to get worse. After the shot of tear gas we received the second time we went ( I wanted to photograph from the student side), there has been no return.

Deportivo Quito Campeones!

The Championship game between Deportivo Quito and Cuenca ended well with Quito winning 3-2. My first futbol game was super fun, even though it was getting a bit boring with no scoring until the last 5 or 10 minutes of the game when both teams started scoring like whoa. Quito ended up winning and madness ensued. I kept myself busy throughout the game stalking the crowd around me with my camera. It was fun.

Nothing like some good old peaceful civil disobedience to get a point across. These photos are from a march protesting bullfighting during the Fiestas de Quito.

This guy was unpleased with the cops reactions of macing kids spray painting anti bullfighting slogans.
This kid just got maced for spray painting an anti-bullfighting stencil.
